Commentator: M***i Muhammad Taqi Usmani
Surah No. 2 Al-Baqarah
Verse number 2
Translation:
This Book is such that there is no doubt about it (2) This is guidance for those who fear (3).
Commentary:
(2) That is, everything in this book is true without any doubt, no book written by a human being can be considered beyond a 20% doubt, because no matter how great a man is, his knowledge is limited and often his book It is based on his personal opinion; But since this book belongs to Allah Ta'ala, whose knowledge is unlimited and certain, there is no room for doubt in it. If anyone doubts, it will be due to his misunderstanding.
(3) Although the Holy Qur'an has shown the right path to everyone, whether he is a believer or an unbeliever, therefore, in terms of this meaning, its guidance is for everyone, but from the point of view of the result, the benefit of this guidance reaches only those who Obey him and follow all his commandments and teachings, because it was said that guidance is for the pious who believe in unseen things. He will have to answer for all his actions before Allah one day, so I should not do anything that would cause him displeasure. This fear and attention is called piety. The Holy Quran has used the word "unseen" for "unseen things". They are known through the revelation of Allah, that is, they are either mentioned in the Holy Qur'an or the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) has found out and told us those things through revelation, for example, the attributes of Allah, the conditions of heaven and hell, angels, etc. In this verse, those pious servants of Allah Ta'ala are being praised who, without seeing the things of the unseen, only believe in the words of Allah Ta'ala and His Messenger (peace be upon them) with their hearts, which they have not seen with their eyes, because this world is a test. Therefore, if these things were seen with the eyes and then a person believed in them, there would be no test. Allah has kept these things hidden from the eyes of man, but He has provided countless proofs of their existence. That when a person thinks with justice, he will believe in these things and will succeed in the exam. The Holy Qur'an has also stated the arguments that will continue to come forward, God willing. The only requirement is that the Holy Qur'an should be read impartially with the spirit of seeking the truth and keep in mind that this is not the case. Be careless in it. It is a matter of improvement and destruction of the eternal life of man. Therefore, there should be a fear in my heart that my selfish desires do not become an obstacle to understanding the arguments of the Holy Quran properly, so I should read its instructions with the spirit of searching for the truth, and with the thoughts that have already settled in my heart. One should read with an empty mind so that I am truly guided. "This is guidance for those who fear" also has a meaning.
