The back side displays an artistic depiction of the Resplendent Quetzal bird, Guatemala’s national symbol, representing freedom and pride. It is shown in vivid colors, surrounded by design elements reflecting the country’s natural and cultural heritage. Additional features include the denomination “1 QUETZAL” and a stylized numeric “100” to mark the 100-year anniversary.
Design and Security:
The note uses green and turquoise tones, integrating both traditional and contemporary design themes. Enhanced security features include tactile elements for the visually impaired, a watermark, and a transparent window with the image of a quetzal.
