Readings

Readings Pakistan's literary landmark, bringing unparalleled
book variety at unbeatable prices since 2006 Established in 2010, Readings has its own publishing house.

Established in 2006 in Gulberg, Lahore, Readings was started as a socially responsible business to provide a large variety of books at affordable prices to a potentially eager-to-read local community. Owing to its customer friendly policies, Readings is, alhamdulillah, a household name across Pakistan now. Some of our major achievements over the years are as follows:

We have 3 physical bookshops

in Lahore. (Readings DHA is the most modern largest ever bookstore cm coffee shop in Pakistan.) Readings online bookshop has the largest stock as compared to other online bookstores in Pakistan. We publish all sorts of books in English, Urdu and other local languages. We are publishing nearly all world and local classics at the most affordable prices. We also publish latest titles and we are always open to submissions by local authors. We are one of the biggest names in Stationery and Art Supplies and other related items in Lahore. We are one of the largest wholesale and institutional suppliers of books in Pakistan. This is not all. Our dream doesn’t end here. We want to open bookshops across Pakistan. We want to reach the doorstop of every potential reader in Pakistan for we firmly believe that IT IS ONLY THEIR INSATIABLE HUNGER FOR BOOKS THAT HAS CHANGED THE DESTINIES OF NATIONS.

Writing can be a solitary act. It can very quickly become you and your laptop, alone in your room. The subject and substance of your writing is most often your tether to the outside world. In that essence, a letter exposes, unfurls, and disguises your most quietly kept thoughts while giving you an outlet to a conversation you might never be able to have.

Come write a letter to a loved one, present or , living or dead, alive or inanimate; tell them you love/hate/envy them, wonder about their favorite color, what music they listened to and any other question that crosses your mind when you think of them.

We will have a short reading and discussion, followed by a letter writing session.

Today we celebrate Walt Whitman, a poet who redefined how we speak of the self, the body, and the world.

Whitman brought a voice that continues to resonate with readers seeking freedom, individuality, and connection.

A reminder that poetry can be as vast and alive as the human spirit itself.
