Ilk Comics (IC) is a converging point for zany, enthusiastic and odd young individuals who see through the illusionary construct of static societies which have, for long, stymied the development of contemporary ideas. Here at IC, the extraordinary task of introducing alternative ideas to an indifferent society is done using the most ordinary of tools at our disposal, namely colour and creativity.

In addition to short stories, comics, posters and drawings on IC, you will also find that the palette is much mightier than both the pen and the sword, because where the pen lacks in luster and the sword in meaning, colour is unique in its ability to transcend the divide of language and give universal meaning to all the things of men i.e. As a society unto ourselves you are encouraged to contribute by pen, brush and keyboard and, at all times, be vanguards of modernity, moderation and tolerance. Acceptance is not precursory to our exercise of creativity but rather a by-product of our creative endeavours given, of course, that our ideas logically succeed one another. Therefore, although many of us see art in damp meerkat ni***es, their time, unfortunately, has not yet come. It is prudent, however, to note that although IC encourages innovative thought it expects maturity in demeanour and the strictest standards of morally acceptable behaviour. Misogyny, racism and hate speech will not be tolerated and neither will incorrect spellings. There is no art or progress in misspelling conjunctions and prepositions.

There lies a very fine, yet glaringly obvious, distinction between rumination and self-delusion.

The question of our purpose haunts all those who see beyond the mirage of routine and society.

While the masses toil and wear away, working to survive and make ends meet never once noticing the shackles which weigh them down, there are those among us who hear the silence which shrouds our daily bustle, who see the shadows which haunt our daily lives and who feel the eerie calm which bind our days together.

These ruminators, in effect, are those creatures of impulse for whom satisfaction is but a fleeting whim and who, from the moment they open their eyes, endlessly strive to answer the call of destiny.

Yet as lofty as their purpose may be, their gift is also their greatest fault because unlike the masses whose errors are, at worst, manageable, when a ruminator faults from coherent thought, his mind falls into everlasting disarray and his fall from grace is only matched by the storm clouds that ensue.
