The internet has apparently decided that Marvel’s Wolverine is already doomed — and Insomniac is starting to notice.
With the game’s September 2026 launch approaching, social media has been flooded with criticism, memes and clips mocking everything from the combat to the visuals. Some of those posts have gone massively viral, creating the impression that the game is universally hated.
Insomniac’s James Stevenson recently pushed back on that perception, describing the negativity as a “relentless onslaught” and questioning whether it is healthy for developers to constantly see that kind of feedback.
His point was less about telling developers to literally disappear from social media and more about how algorithms can amplify the loudest negative reactions while making them feel much bigger than they actually are.
Interestingly, early hands-on previews have been considerably more positive, with some praising Wolverine’s heavier combat, darker tone and story.
The game isn't even out yet.
Maybe we should actually play it before burying Logan.
