Hi bookfriends! In just a few minutes, weβll be saying goodbye to 2025. How do you feel? Feeling ko kumurap lang ako sa taon na βto, tapos na agad. Lol!
Anyway, before the year officially ends, let me look back on my reading year and share with you the books that shook me, hugged me, wrecked me, and reminded me why I love reading. π€π
This year, I read more or less 30 books (not including DNFs). I discovered so many amazing reads, most of which I rated 4 to 5 stars. Some were just okay, and a few were meh. But as 2025 comes to a close, here are the five books that truly stood out for me this year, in no particular order. Different genres, different vibes, but each one left a mark and lived rent-free in my head long after I finished reading.

A psychological thriller classic for a reason. Twisted, toxic, and brilliantly executed. This book made me uncomfortable in the best way and proved that female rage can be terrifyingly iconic.

Light, fun, and surprisingly heartfelt. This one gave me butterflies, laughs, and that βrom-com but make it bookishβ feeling. When it comes to YA contemporary romance, you can never go wrong with a Lynn Painter book. This is by far my second favorite of hers, with Better Than the Movies still holding the top spot. Dark, messy, and layered. The atmosphere alone deserves applause. I loved how chaotic and unsettling this was. A thriller that kept me guessing and questioning everyone until the very end. As I mentioned in my review before, this is one of those books that made me say, βIβm glad Iβm single.β

Smart, funny, and incredibly engaging. Science-heavy but never boring, napaka-interesting nga basahin ng POV ng ating bida dito e. Reading about one man surviving against impossible odds was both inspiring and wildly entertaining. I cannot wait to pick up more books by Andy Weir.

Creepy, emotional, and haunting in a way that slowly sneaks up on you. A dark romance with paranormal undertones that left me unsettled and thinking about it days after finishing. Honestly, Iβm pretty sure Iβll end up rereading this in 2026.

Even though this is my second time reading the series, I am still in awe of how moody, magical, and atmospheric Maggie Stiefvaterβs writing is. The characters, the mystery, the storytelling, everything about this book feels like pure perfection. β¨
And there you have it, my best books of 2025. I am so excited to discover new gems in the coming year. How about you, bookfriends? What were your favorite reads of 2025? Share them in the comments section.
Lastly, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has been with us this year. You guys are golden. β¨π
