I thought we'd show some Hufflepuff love for good 'ol Newt and his book Fantastic Beasts. This is the first edition of Hogwarts Library, as a School Book Pack with just two books. Fantastic Beasts and Quidditch Through the Ages were published in 2001 to help Comic Relief. Beedle the Bard was published much later, in aid of Lumos. Later editions put these three in a box set called Hogwarts Library.
Which editions do you guys have? We also have the first box set and currently waiting to get the new editions with six new fantastic beasts. ☺️

Part of Sirius's letter to Harry as they were going home from Hogwarts. This is just from memory and I might have missed something. Buuut I do remember Pig to be quite small... 😅
We watched Prisoner of Azkaban on HBO today. This part was removed and I wished it wasn't. Which book-part that wasn't in the movies did you wish they put in?

It's ! Who's participating? 🙋🏻 Head on to and comment on their posts about Hogwarts Professors, this year's theme.
Remembering the books and movies, we liked a LOT of the Hogwarts teachers. McGonagall of course was the first ever witch we get to know, and how cool is she? Transforming into a cat with 'glasses' markings and still effectively showing her disdain for Vernon Dursley. In book 5, she was not at all intimidated by Umbridge. Then there was Slughorn with his Slug Club and fun, excellent potions classes (finally!). The DA wouldn't have been successful against Death Eaters without Felix Felicis. Don't forget Hagrid and his err.. memorable creatures. Our favorites are the hippogriff, thestrals, and the unicorn that he showed in his classes.
BUT, in our humble opinion, no other professor invested as much time and interest in Harry as Albus Dumbledore, closely followed by Severus Snape. From the start to finish, they were protecting Harry and thus his friends, from Voldemort whom they knew would return. The HP stories just won't be the same as these two teachers who knowingly and bravely met their tragic ends, and for that, this post honors them. ❤️

By now everyone would have seen the new green cover of A Court of Wings and Ruin. What did you think of it? We love the art and the details, like the sword, the green background, and Feyre's tattoo as High Lady. Can't wait to find out what happened to the Spring Court after Feyre left, and what she's going to do to it from the inside. BUT I also want to read about Nesta and Cassian. 😅 What are you most looking forward to reading in ACOWAR?

Have you guys looked on Pottermore yet? Eddie Redmayne (as Newt) has read and recorded the updated Fantastic Beasts audiobook. 😍 I always prefer old-school books rather than ebooks or audiobooks, but Newt's recording sounds interesting! These versions will be released in March 2017.
Here's another look at the Newt pin and Macusa button pin we included in our Nov Magic box. If you look closely, there's a unicorn bracelet in between the pins. 🦄 What's your favorite Fantastic Beast?

New covers for Beedle the Bard, Fantastic Beasts, and Quidditch through the Ages coming out in March. Fantastic Beasts even had a new forewed from Newt Scamander, instead of Dumbledore. Which editions do you have of these titles?

Tribute post for Alan Rickman, Feb 21 1946 - Jan 14 2016. Although he had many roles filled over his acting career, he will Always be the complicated and tragic Professor Snape to Potterheads.
Apart from being Snape, which character do you best remember Alan Rickman by? Last I watched him was as the voice of Absolem in the recent Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass movies.
As Alan Rickman's birthday was also in February, we will include something about him and his roles in our Mad Love Mystery box. Our theme is Mad Hatter and the other Wonderland characters.
