This is a latest edition Core Audio Mac Mini we ordered recently for a client. The Mac Mini is a late 2012 Mac Mini Server with two internal hard drives and a quad core processor. They do not make them like this anymore! The internal memory has been upgraded to 16GB and the internal processing hard drive has been replaced with a solid state hard drive (120GB SSD). Lastly the Mac Mini has been Cryo shielded to keep unwanted RFI away from deliciate processing areas within the Mac Mini. Power comes from the Core Audio Kaia Gen II Special Edition.

That is exactly what came to mind when I first listened to these beautiful Japanese sound panels from Acoustic Revive (https://www.acoustic-revive.com/english/rwl3/rwl3_01.html). Finally a product that seems to get the resonance of music right. More often than not, the piano, violins and cellos in classical pieces just do not come alive (no matter how good the recording), it feels as if they are somewhat stuck inside the speakers. When placing Acoustic Revive panels on the outer side of each speaker (at the level of the first/direct tweeter reflection point), these piano, violins and cellos can be felt in your throat! They have force and sound convincing. Very nice :)

RWL-3`s ditch has been designed by computer analysis and listening test. Also carefully calculated curve will diffuse sound in wide space compared from other diffusing type room tuning panels.

NEW MUSIC ON A SOMEWHAT OLDER MUSIC SYSTEM.

Modern electronic music has come a long way. Take Francesco Tristano's "Fragrance De Fraga" track from his "Idiosynkrasia" album. In its 24 bits/96kHz high resolution, this track will push any speaker to its acoustical limitations. the level of detail, space and bottemless bass lines of this track are simply surreal. We tried this track with great results on the following combination of components: a 2008 Mac Mini with Mach2Music software and modifications & Amarra Symphony software; a 2010 Weiss INT203 Digital Fire Wire Interface; a 2014 Berkeley Audio Alpha DAC (Series 2); a 2004 (I believe) modified BAT VK30 Preamplifier and the 2008 NuForce Ref 9V3SE Mono Blocks feeding the new Aerial Acoustics 7T speakers in beautiful Nero Gloss Black. All cables are MIT SL-Matrix. The listening room was shaking with thunder :)

Core Audio Technology For Your Apple MAC Mini.

Thinking of using your Apple Mac Mini as a music server? Aside from installing Amarra as your player software for iTunes, the next best upgrade is replacing the Apple stock power supply with a more advanced power supply.

You may be familiar with the external Core Audio Kaia power supply for Apple Mac mini computers (see the Core Audio Technology black box photo below and their website at: http://www.coreaudiotechnology.com/products/music-servers/mac-mini-music-server/).

This power supply takes your 230 volts current coming out of your wall outlet and converts it into a very clean and stable 12 volt current. Core Audio's most recent rendition of its Kaia power supply (Gen. 2), brings the voltage down but not completely to 12 volts. The last stage of voltage regulation is now done by the Mac Mini iVRM Internal Voltage Regulator Module (see the remaining 3 photos). This internal regulation circuit is ultra low noise and has ultra fast transient response, high current and low heat. By adding a last stage of regulation directly at the logic board, Core Audio was able to dramatically reduce noise, improve resolution, and eliminate complications with longer DC cables and poorly implemented external power supply designs. Yes, that means you can use a lower-end power supply with this iVRM and get great performance. However, it will not be as refined as with Core Audio's Kaia Gen 2 power supply.

And if your Apple Mac Mini ever breaks down, it is very easy to transfer the Core Audio iVRM to the next new Mac Mini.

I think it is fair to say that most people will appreciate Chris Botti's talents as an exceptional musician. However, equally impressive is what he did for his Boston live concert in 2008. He put together a seriously heavy-hitting rhythm section with drummer Billy Kilson, bassist Robert Hurst and pianist Billy Childs. Add to that guitarist Mark Whitfield and you have something truly special. If you ever have the chance to see any of these musical geniuses live, you must go and see them! No excuses, because it does not get any better than this.
