We are just used to it. We are used to find our place and space in this busy world. A world filled with external pressures. That is why, I want to remind you to take your time. Control — my version of peaceful co-existence. Gone before I set myself to sun. 50 minutes of brushing my teeth, 20 mins to look at the door, lost in the space of a blank wall. With goals all lined-up, one moment of ‘something’ then I am paralyzed. Ready to go, but people can’t let go. Control now is nothing but a dream.

I don’t know what’s normal, or which one, or which day. Now, which minute. Waking up and moving just in time is something I find hard to do. It is as if my time and my environment were never in sync. My thoughts are fast but everything else is slow.

I did try to experience what was familiar. The familiar feeling of moving along with the timeframe of others. It feels light and good. But always, there is something that pulls me back to a place I fight against — the state of thinking fast and having things around me that is slow. I don’t know which place I have to be, or which place I am supposed to be at, or which one is normal. Where is my normal place? I always try but it always feels a place I am not allowed to stay.

Just thinking of how our meaning or purpose in life is merely to experience. Eating an orange segment, hoping for snow, being in love, returning over and over to one painting, stepping outside for the full moon, submersion in water, having a favourite colour, knowing beauty, feeling alone, feeling connected, feeling longing… it is enough.
