Nutrition and Diatetics student Kylene Kate Rogio and Professional Education student Elijah Mikhael Diaz bear the crown for the Mister and Miss College of Education (MMCEduc) 2024.
In an interview with the Dawn, Diaz and Rogio shared their gratitude for being chosen as their college's representative for the upcoming Mister and Miss University of the East (MMUE) 2023-2024.
"Instilled with gratitude, I also feel confident and motivated that I can give my best because of the support of my CEduc family, the Eduk Warriors," Diaz expressed.
Miss College of Education Rogio also shared that she felt nervous but happy to be the representative of their college.
"[I]t means that they entrusted me to represent our beloved College of Education. I also feel loved and motivated by their support, physically, mentally, and emotionally," she stated.
The pair also expressed their excitement for the upcoming MMU, expecting that each candidate will shine through the pageant.
"I also expect that this event will wake people up and pay attention to all the advocacies promoted by each candidate," Rogio hoped.
Diaz wanted to represent the qualities of a "Red Warrior", whom he described as critical and creative thinker, a humane person, an active member of the community, a model of integrity, a proud Filipino, and a seeker of knowledge.
"I would like to embody someone who can embody the entire UE community, preserving our customs and traditions. I also believe that a Red Warrior who is relatable, approachable, kind, humane, and confident, can be the voice and image of each and every Warrior." Diaz said.
Meanwhile, Rogio wanted to represent the qualities of "Mabuting Tao", described as being an important quality each person should have.
"It may be a simple value that everyone knows, but it is a very important value that everyone should possess," she emphasized.
