ORDERING GUIDELINES (updated 5/26/19)
Please read before placing an order.

What is The Book Snoop? The online bookstore, started April 2016, is your #1 source of hard-to-find book titles and select editions of good books. We only sell what interests us and what we read, hence, you'll find here mostly modern and contemporary literary classics, philosophy and theory, as well as modern poetry, a lot of genre (horror, vintage crime/thriller/spy, sci-fi, speculative, fantasy), naturalist and environmentalism titles, travel, the arts, collectibles, the biological sciences, natural history, popular science and general nonfiction titles on a wide variety of topics especially maths, sciences (including physics and maths), history, biography, and books about literature. WE HAVE NO PHYSICAL SHOP AS OF NOW.
We aim to be the online book shop that matters- offerings- and customer service-wise.

Books for sale are uploaded twice a month. Uploads time and date schedules are announced well before the actual upload) and a teaser album and teaser photos are released prior. Books may NOT yet be reserved on the teaser photos. Prices, condition, other book details will only be upon actual upload. Strictly NO advance reservations will be entertained.

1) HOW TO BUY. Signify your desire to buy a book by commenting an appropriate term ('Mine' or 'Save' or 'Next' which are the standard, or any letter combination provided it is at least four letters long) on the book picture. No Reservation thru PM! Please do not comment mine if you have no ultimate plans to get the book/s as there may be others who need the book. If you have a -CANCELLED- invoice, you may or may not be banned, but you will no longer be able to order from The Book Snoop again. New customers should PM us their complete address for the shipping rate computation.

2) RESERVATION. 5 days reservation only. Piling of books is acceptable but payments should be made within the reservation period. Piling is applicable for a maximum of 1 month and for three books or less. Count of days start from date of invoice.

3) MEETUP. Meetupz will be every 8PM Tuesday at McDonald’s in Sun Mall at Welcome Rotonda (Quezon City).

4) SHIPPING & HANDLING. Shipping schedule is about thrice a week by Batches. Shipping is via 2Go or LBC of which fees are shouldered by the customer.
For undeclared/ uninsured packages, the page will NOT be liable for damaged or lost in transit shipments arising from fortuitous events or the negligence of the courier.

5) RETURNS. Refund and replacements for returned items are accepted but only if the books are not as described. If for example, it is mentioned that the book has scribbles, you can't return the book just because there are writings on it. The buyer pays for return shipping and if for meetup.
If the wrong item is delivered to you, all costs will be shouldered by The Book Snoop.
All requests for return must be made within three (3) days of the receipt of the books.

6) CONDITION. We will try to be as objective as possible in stating condition. All major faults, if any, will be described. Here is a short guide we use:

New/Like New- sealed/ not sealed, no faults
VGC- minor faults like shelf wear, obviously unread (i.e., no spine creases, with pristine pages)
Good- a book that has been read, hence has some minor spine and cover creases, otherwise the book is in good condition. The majoriy of books will fall in this condition.
Acceptable/ Fair- reading copy only. May be tanned, have significant creases, has highlights, writings scribbles, ex-libris markings. All major faults will be described as much as possible. Any major faults not described may be a ground for return/replacement. (Please refer to Note #4.) Please do not buy books with Acceptable condition if you are very conscious of appearance.
Old copy- books are sold AS IS. No warranty on books marked as this.

7) PAYMENT. BDO transfer/deposit preferred but we accept payments thru money remittance, preferably LBC or Cebuana Lhuiller, Palawan or Western Union. Details upon sending of the invoice.

8. BUYING. We are always sourcing for good books (philosophy, modern classics, LatAm and Russian lit.). Kindly message with pictures and prices. Strictly no recent YA, romance, chick lit or generic bestsellers, please.

9) WISHLIST. Comment your wishlist on the “ORDERING GUIDELINES” post (It is the top- most or pinned post on the page wall). It is this post. Starting August 1, 2017, I will only consider wishlisted books on this thread.
FORMAT--- TITLE/ AUTHOR / Preferred format (mass market/TP,HB or blank if no preference)/ CONDITION (Good/VGC/ New or blank if no preference)/ any other special remarks (e.g. price ceiling, specific editions/translations, need-by this date).
All books for sale, wishlisted or otherwise will, will still be included in the teaser and upload albums. Upon upload, a wishlister who wishes to claim a wishlisted book MUST comment “MINE- WISHLIST” before invoices are sent. Valid “MINE- WISHLIST” comments will be prioritized over other comments. A maximum of two (2) books may be claimed for each monthly upload.
Never edit any comment, otherwise, that particular wishlist is invalidated. Instead, reply to your own comment and/or delete the prior version.

CLAIMING FROM WISHLISTS WILL START ONE MONTH AFTER WISHLIST IS MADE.

10) ETC. Resellers may buy from the regular priced books of the page. However, they cannot participate in any of the promos clearly marked as on sale/markdown/discounted.

Customers without wishlists can always participate in the uploads, of course!

11) 2019 DISCOUNT AND LOYALTY PROGRAM policy of The Book Snoop

a) Every P1000 purchase will be entitled to a P50 discount. Discount pertains to single purchase only per upload. Discount refers to regular-priced items only (i.e., sale items will not be included in reckoning the P1000). Discount program start with the January 13 upload and will continue in perpetuity unless revised or revoked.

b) Purchase from 4 consecutive uploads (regardless of amount) will entitle a customer the right to purchase one (1) book before it is uploaded. Loyalty program commences retroactively from the January 6 upload. Valid claimants must communicate their claim at least 24 hours before the scheduled upload. All rights expire every December 31 and resets every January 1.

c)Top Fan discount
For every book bought by a customer with the ‘Top Fan’ badge, further discounts are:
P250 or less- P5 discount
P251-500- P10 discount
P501-1000-P15 discount
P1001+ - P20 discount

d) No discount on books marked ‘J’ as these are consigned items. No discount for books P100 and below.

e) All discounts are forfeited if invoice was paid beyond the deadline, reason for delay notwithstanding.
