One of My Lifelong Christmas Wishes on my grownup Christmas List. It’s incredible to learn that the Netherlands has become the first country in the world to eliminate stray dogs, not through force, but through kindness. Every dog now has a name, a home, and a system that ensures care, safety, and dignity.

This milestone came from a nationwide commitment to compassion: rescuing dogs from the streets, neutering and vaccinating them, registering each one, and holding owners accountable. No cruelty. No mass culling. Just patience, responsibility, and empathy in action. It’s a powerful reminder that when society chooses care over neglect, even the toughest problems can be solved, one life at a time.

When human babies are born too small, they are rushed into intensive care, surrounded by machines, doctors, and compassion, all working to give them the best chance at life. Their size is never seen as a reason to end their existence. It is seen as a reason to protect them.

When piglets are born too small or fail to grow fast enough for profit, they are labeled liabilities. Their lives end violently. Held by their back legs and smashed headfirst onto concrete floors or pillars. This practice has a name: PAC, pounded against concrete. It is legal, routine, and happening across the world, hidden behind the walls of animal agriculture.

There is no such thing as cruelty-free animal products in a system that treats living beings as disposable. If this reality makes you uncomfortable, let it change you. Please, please, please stop eating animals.

Choose compassion.
Choose to break the cycle.
