| REVERSION OF EXCISE TAX RATES ON KEROSENE AND LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS (LPG)
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) informs the public that it has received a Certification dated 01 July 2026 from the Department of Energy (DOE) stating that the one-month average Dubai crude oil price based on the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) covering the period 01 to 30 June 2026 was at USD 79.45 per barrel, which is below the USD 80.00 per barrel threshold.
Pursuant to Section 3(i) of Executive Order No. 114, the excise tax rates on Kerosene and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) shall automatically revert to the rates prescribed under Section 148 of the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC), as amended, without need of further issuance, one (1) week after the issuance of the DOE Certification dated 01 July 2026. Accordingly, the applicable excise tax rates shall revert on all importations of Kerosene and LPG lodged by 08 July 2026.
Therefore, all importers, customs brokers, petroleum companies, warehouse operators, and other concerned stakeholders are advised to take note of the foregoing and ensure compliance with the applicable excise tax rates effective 08 July 2026.โฉ
