Ang Sulong Simbayanan (SUSI) Enterprise ay pagsisikap ng Mga Mumunting Kristiyanong Simbayanan (Basic Ecclesial Communities) ng Parokya ng Santuario ni San Vicente de Paul para itaguyod ang mga simbayanan at pamayanan sa panahon ng pandemya at igpaw pa. WHEN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION was locked down on 15 March 2020, the Parish Basic Ecclesial Communities Team knew that our BEC communities woul
d be the ones most affected in terms of food, medicine and other daily basic needs. (who is ex-officio member of The Team by virtue of his office as our Parish Priest), thought of ways and means on how to meet the situation head on, however dangerous the situation was at that time when COVID pandemic was on the rampage. By 19 March 2020, the “OPLANvsCOVID19” (later renamed “MKSvsCOVID”) ‘War Room’ on FB Messenger was created by the Parish BEC Team Head Steward Lita Asis-Nero. Then, the key BEC Kawan Leaders initialized their “faith-in-action” spirituality with the distribution of the “Enteng Bags” to Simbayanan members. [BECs as the new way of being Church that is alive and responsive to “the joys and the hopes, the griefs and the anxieties of the men of this age, especially those who are poor” (GS #1) are places where prayer and action meet.] Because of the seriousness of the situation, the effort in helping the communities throughout the pnademic needed sustaining. And so on 24 March 2020, the fundraiser “Kapitbahayan: Tulong Sa Tandang Sora” fb page was created. On the same day, the Parish BEC Team Animator started calling the key BEC Kawan Leaders who are braving the Covid virus onslaughts by distributing “goods and care” to the communities as “Frontliners”. Propitiously, “Vincent Helps” of the Congregation of the Mission came along on 31 March 2020, just in time when donors whose spirit of generosity was still willing but the resources are already running out. “Vincent Helps” was heaven-sent! “Vincent Helps” sticks it out with the poor communities up to this very day. But this, too, will certainly not stay forever. Geowen A. Porcincula, C.M. says, supplies might not last that long. But Fr. Geo continues to help in some other ways as long as the Covid stays. In fact, he is still helping Fr. Raymundo Regua, the Parish BEC Ministry Team and the BEC Leaders of Santuario to get this “Sulong Simbayanan Enterprise”: Taguyod-Sikap ng mga Mumunting Kristiyanong Simbayanan sa Panahon ng Covid going. IN RESPONSE to the abnormal “new normal” brought about by the Covid pandemic, the Mga Mumunting Kristiyanong Simbayanan (Basic Ecclesial Communities) of Santuario de San Vicente de Paul Parish and Shrine of the Poor launched a self-help “Sulong Simbayanan Enterprise”: Taguyod-Sikap ng mga Mumunting Kristiyanong Simbayanan sa Panahon ng Covid with the following objectives:
1. To enable BEC members of Santuario de San Vicente de Paul Parish and Shrine of the Poor to have access to cheaper basic commodities, e.g. rice, eggs, sugar, coffee, vegetables and root crops; and
2. To maintain sustainable food sources for MKS members and their extended families, especially during these difficult times of the pandemic and beyond.
