The Experiment:

We heard that if you swirl water over something that looks like honey it will forms shapes that look like honeycomb in the honey. Kapag hindi nag form nang honey comb at na dissolve agad sa water ang honey ibig sabihin fake ang honey .. Pero kapag nag form nang kamuka nang honey comb ibig sabihin pasado legit at pure ang honey..

MYTHS & FACTS about Honey

1) Ang totoong pure honey ay dapat malapot

👉MALI PO. May honey po na malapot at merong hindi. Ang lapot po ng honey ay depende sa age nya. Mas matanda mas malapot. Ibig sabihin, ang batang honey ay more likely na runny.

2) Pag nagcrystalized ang honey ibig sabihin hindi ito magandang uri ng honey.

👉MALI PO. Ang crystallization or granulation ay sariling paraan ng honey para ipreserve ang sarili nya. So kapag nagcrystalized honey mo wag mo ito itapon. May paraan naman para madecrystalize ito.

3) Pag dark ang honey ibig sabihin matandang honey ito.

👉MALI PO. Ang honey po mayroong standard na 7 colors, ranging from transparent colorless to dark amber. Ang kulay ng honey ay depende sa flower source nito.

4) Pag di malapot ang honey, ito ay fake.

👉MALI PO. Nasabi na natin sa #1, ang lapot ng honey ay depende sa age nya. So hindi po fake pag di malapot ang honey lalo na kung legit naman ang source 😉

5) Pinapatay ng pasteurization ang bacteria sa honey.

👉MALI PO. Antibacterial po ang honey, kaya di ito magkakaroon ng bacteria. Ang totoo po ay pinapaganda lng ng pasteurization ang itsura ng honey. Nawawala nito ang bubbles, natural wax, at pinapatay din nito o kaya ay winawalan ng bisa ang nutrients na taglay ng raw na honey. Kaya ung mga pasteurized na honey ay good as nothing na po dahil wala na itong gaanong nutrients.

6) Mas magandang honey pag transparent ang itsura nito. Example: yellow & transparent or dark & transparent.

👉MALI PO. Ang raw honey po ay hindi transparent. May transparent na honey pero un lang ung mga light colors (like transparent colorless to white to super light yellow). Habang ngdadark ang honey mas nagiging di ito transparent.

Ang totoo: pasteurized na honey po ang kalimitang transparent na honey.

Bakit nga ba iba't iba ang kulay at lasa ng honey? This mainly depends on the environment where the bees are buzzing around. Magkakaiba ang flowers at nectars na kinukuha ng mga bubuyog kaya normal po na magkakaiba din ang lasa at aroma. They also differ in viscosity (lapot) honey variants from different provinces in the Philippines are incomparable.

One thing's for sure tho, all these types are definitely HEALTHY.
