Out of so many houseplants to plant, boston fern is a must-have. Apart from its good looks and low maintenance tag, there are many BOSTON FERN benefits to talk about! Btw, a lot of people are calling it a snake plant. But I want to call it, "Boston fern" (one of its name)
Here: A Great Oxygen Producing Houseplant.
It removes air pollutants. One of its best health benefits is it can make its small contribution to get rid of toxic air pollutants. Other than CO2, it can absorb benzene, formaldehyde, xylene, and toluene. These cancer-causing pollutants are harmful to our health, a well-known proven fact. It also absorbs CO2 in the night. It also reduces the CO2 even in the night. It is due to the Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM), the capability to perform a particular type of photosynthesis.
It is effective against allergies.
A plant that releases oxygen, reduces CO2 and absorbs harmful volatile organic compounds can surely decrease the odds of airborne allergies. Boston fern is one such plant! Even if you’re using the air filters and purifiers, surrounding yourself with Boston fern could help.
Our tips on how to care for your Boston fern:
Allow soil to dry between waterings and take extra special care not to over water in cold season. Try to avoid getting leaves wet when you water. Place your snake plants in indirect light (although they are tolerant of a variety of light conditions) and fertilize during the growing season with an all-purpose plant food.
