Pasig City β The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), through its Field Regulatory Operations Office β South Luzon Cluster (FROO-SLC), provided technical and regulatory assistance to the National Bureau of Investigation β Dangerous Drugs Division (NBI-DDD) during an enforcement operation conducted on 22 May 2026 in Pasig City against the illegal administration of unregistered injectable products for aesthetic purposes.
During the operation, authorities reportedly apprehended a medical practitioner administering unregistered injectable products, including those marketed as weight loss injectables, glutathione, and fat-dissolving products. As these products have not undergone the necessary FDA evaluation and authorization to establish their safety, quality, and efficacy, their use may pose significant risks to public health.
The FDA reiterates that the use, promotion, distribution, and administration of unregistered health products are prohibited under Republic Act No. 9711. The Agency remains committed to strengthening its collaboration with law enforcement partners to combat illegal health product activities, uphold regulatory compliance, and protect the health and safety of the Filipino public.
