OMB Agents conducted inspections in various areas in Metro Manila, Region 4-A (Calabarzon/Southern Tagalog), 6 (Western Visayas), and 8 (Eastern Visayas).
In August alone, a total of hundred forty two stalls/establishment were inspected, and said operations during the period led to the seizure of 600,062 pieces of pirated CDs/DVDs of different format and titles, as well as 85,990 pieces of blank CDs, all amounting to an estimated value of PhP210.88-Million.
The act of selling counterfeit products is illegal, same goes for individuals patronizing any type of counterfeits. OMB will undertake further counter-measures in the coming months to seize these kinds of illegal activities.
