WORLD CHAMPIONS!
Congratulations to the AST Robotics kids for winning World Championship titles by sweeping the entire ELEMENTARY and MIDDLE SCHOOL categories of 2019 WER Championship and taking home the GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE trophies and medals of their respective divisions. The World Educational Robotics (WER) contest was held in National Exhibition and Convention Center Shanghai, China last December 14 and 15, 2019.
Philippine teams, represented by 37 teams consisting of 77 members from 7 Philippine schools, competed with 74 other contender teams from 16 different countries bagging 27 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze awards including a Best Innovation Award.
Over and above the technical prowess performed by the students, the combination of their 8 virtues (problem solving, critical thinking, grit, passion, teamwork, adaptability, discipline and innovation) proved to be the winning formula to achieve this level of success.
Winners of ELEMENTARY DIVISION Brick Series (4 + 3) are:
Overall 1st placer and 2nd placer in Round 1 – The Variables, team members Kolby Carter Chua and Jessaree Joyce Lim of Saint Jude Catholic School
Overall 2nd placer and 1st placer in Round 1, Best Innovation Award – The Elite, team members Ellison Matthew Ang and Abigail Michaella See of Saint Jude Catholic School
