Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig: Denmark's Viking Queen Invades the Philippines With Couture and Sinigang
The Bikini Viking Has Landed
It started like all global invasions do—with a press release and an awkward photo op at an airport. Miss Universe 2024, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, has reportedly given the Philippines "all it can handle," which according to our sources includes fashion statements, charitable grace, accidental diplomacy, and a growing trail of confused customs officers who didn’t know whether to frisk her or ask for selfies.

From her days in tiny Søborg to being crowned Queen of the Known Universe, Victoria has scaled the pageant world like a shieldmaiden on a Chanel-sponsored longship. If you thought Thor was the only Norse export causing chaos, you haven’t seen Victoria in an infinity-pearl crown trying to order halo-halo without breaking her cheekbones from the wind machine.

Turning Off the Spin: A Comedy Revolution in Television

Manila, Philippines – In a city where politics is as common as jeepneys, a local electronics plant has developed a groundbreaking invention that promises to revolutionize the way we watch television: a TV that turns off when politicians appear. From politicians’ speeches to endless debates, this device is turning off the spin and providing viewers with a much-needed escape from the political circus.

CNN Don Lemon shut-down over slave reparations

OPINION: Slave Reparations

Don Lemon roasted over royal expert’s answer on Britain paying slave reparations.
Last night on CNN Don Lemon pushed a royal scholar named Hilary Fordwich to join him in lending credence to the slave reparations narrative that we’ve been hearing about. The left wants the royal family to distribute some of its billions of dollars in wealth to the descendants of slaves and people who are living in former royal colonies. She didn’t support their agenda, not one tiny bit.

The assistant producer who scheduled this might be out of a job. Perhaps CNN just paused and then moved on; it’s CNN, and they frequently take race issues for granted.

Don Lemon expected full capitulation from his guest which is what everybody expects on hyper-sensitive issues like this. It didn’t work out that way.

The United Kingdom was the first nation in the world that abolished slavery. It was started by William Wilberforce who opposed slavery; they abolished slavery. Two thousand sailors died on the high seas trying to stop slavery. Why? Because the African kings were rounding up their own people; they had the cages waiting on the beaches, waiting for the mostly Dutch slave ships. No one was running into Africa to get them and I think you’re totally right if reparations need to be paid we need to go right back to the beginning of that supply chain and say who was rounding up their own people? Absolutely Africa is where they should start. Also maybe the British sailors that died on the high fees, trying to stop the slavery, those families should receive something too I think. African nations paying slave reparations; it’s an interesting discussion. – Hilary Fordwich

Slave reparations may be the single most divisive idea in American politics. Advocates have spent decades calling on the U.S. government to make slave reparations.

Democratic policy group demands free air conditioning…

According to the The Democratic Member Retention Policy Group, a San Francisco think-tank, a $3.5 trillion Comfort and Climate Change policy could be drafted this week. It would relieve most of the non-working American’s summer discomfort at every point in life, from conception to old age.

Peter Bogdanovich, the Oscar-nominated writer-director of The Last Picture Show whose career, which also included hits like What’s Up, Doc? and Paper Moon, put him on a path toward living up to the example of those like Orson Welles and John Ford he so lionized, has died. He was 82.

He made a splash early in his career with 'The Last Picture Show,' 'What's Up, Doc?' and 'Paper Moon' and served as a surrogate film professor for a generation.
