We have an incoming Submariner Ref. 16610, complete with its original box and papers.

The original warranty certificate shows that the watch was retailed by Kooheji in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and it comes accompanied by the original purchase receipt dated October 27, 2000.

The receipt shows a purchase price of SAR 11,200, equivalent to roughly ₱153,000 at the time.

Fast forward 26 years, and this same Submariner now trades just shy below ₱600,000.

A pretty cool reminder of how a great watch can become part of a story — and, sometimes, a surprisingly good store of value along the way.

A reference that’s very close to my heart — the Ref. 5500 Air-King.

This was the very first Rollie I took a chance on back in 2020, when watch dealing was still just a side hustle while I was working full-time as a banker.

Looking back, I don’t think I realized how significant that one watch would become.

What started with a single Air-King eventually became a journey that brought countless watches through our hands — each one with its own story, and eventually finding a new owner who would appreciate it just as much.

In many ways, this little Air-King was the catalyst for everything that came after. It represents the leap of faith, the long nights, the risks, and the beginnings of something I never imagined would grow into what it is today.

And perhaps that’s what I love most about watches. They’re more than just objects we wear. A good watch becomes a companion. It sits on your wrist through the difficult days, the long nights, the moments when you’re figuring things out — and it’s still there when things finally start going your way.

Years later, you can look down at that same watch and remember where you were, what you were going through, and how far you’ve come.

Funny how sometimes, the watches that mean the most to you aren’t necessarily the most expensive ones. Sometimes, they’re simply the ones that were there at the beginning.

The Reference 5500 will always have a special place in our story.

Now, it’s time for it to become part of yours. ❤️
