This was by far the worst typhoon my lovely city has ever experience or I've seen,- Tabaco City ALBAY (including all other provinces)
I wanted to atleast do my part to help my kababayan, this may be small but I hope in my own little way I can be of help.
I'm planning to buy some rice(we all know how important this is to every Filipinos table) , using the proceeds to give this coming holiday. Losing your home is already a struggle and unbearable, but having an empty stomach along that, is a totally different story.
(Brief Story on why I decided to sell this for a cause)
I was really a fan of tote bags, the simplicity and a lot cheaper than other bags, it can be use anywhere, you name it. And so, I decided I wanted to create my own and maybe turn it into a small business(hopefully). No idea how it works, I thought it's as easy as buy the 'katsa' as they call it then have it sewed, then voila I have my tote bag. But it's actually a bit more complicated than I thought, first is I need to know where to buy the material, look for someone who knows how to make the pattern, have it cut, then have it sewed then for the last step, printing of designs. To cut the story short I was able to do it, originally I planned on just testing the water, to also minimise the money I'm going to invest, but I was told that it would be much cheaper if I buy the material in-rolyo, and so I did. I underestimated the cost cause firstly it was just a tote bag, and this is my first time. I was very excited, having the thought that I'll be able to sell it immediately, the optimism in me,but things doesn't always go our way ofcourse, there's been some misunderstanding with the printing of design, unfortunately it was printed on all the bags already. The concept is to promote Recycle and avoid plastic to help mother nature, but it's not pleasing to everyone and nobody likes the design. So now comes the tough part, how are we going to sell it, ofcourse I tried selling it for a price that won't even give me the earnings or interest, just for the sake of getting the capital back, cause it's not just my money, it's someone else's too. And since this was my idea I feel responsible, which I should. This pandemic has tested everyone's humanity, and yet another super typhoon(rolly) hit my province, Albay, it's devastating and heartbreaking to see, here we are again being tested, then I'm thinking of some ways to help my kababayan, I'm turning this first failed business venture of mine into a blessing to some and I hope this won't be the last one. 🙏
