“Ito na ba talaga ang buhay ko”

Nais mo bang tumigil sa paninigarilyo, for good? Pero hindi mo alam kung paano sisimulan? Ano ang dapat at una mong gagawin? O kung doubtful ka sa iyong sariling kakayahan?

Please, allow me to share my experience,

Siya nga pala, I’m Mon, simpleng tao na may malaking pangarap para sa pamilya, na tulad mo naging alipin rin nang sigarilyo, nagsimula ito habang naglalaro ang noo’y tatlong taong gulang ko pang anak, habang nakatitig ako sa kanya, nangangarap sa buhay na nais kong ibigay sa kanya,

a deep realization appears in my head.

Paano kung magkasakit ako at hindi na makapag trabaho or worst died at an early age. An urge to quit smoking suddenly became my priority. Hindi ko alam kung bakit napunta ako sa ganong panguunawa.

Nung time na yun, na stock talaga ako kasi alam kung mahirap, kasi naging parte na ito nang buhay ko, or should I say, naging buhay ko na ito.

Malalim na ang baon nito sa aking pagkatao, nandun na rin ang disappointment dahil alam ko, dati sinubukan ko at sa bawat subok na hindi napagtagumpayan mas lalo pang lumakas ang kapit nito sa buhay ko.

Alam ko kung gaano ka lakas ang impluwensya nang sigarilyo sa buhay ko and it take control in my life.
….Halos patay sindi ako kung manigarilyo.
…..Umaga pares sa kape
…..pagkatapos kumain
…..pag nasa outdoor ang work di mawawala ang YOSI Break
…...pati pag nagbabawas

Like what I said,naging buhay ko na talaga ang sigarilyo, kahit ilang ulit pang nakikita ang babala sa pack ng sigarilyo “SMOKING KILLS YOU SLOWLY” I just make it as a joke,

--Bakit? sino ba naman ang nagmamadaling mamatay? OK lang sana kung sinulat dyan,” SMOKING KILLS YOU FAST” mas mapapaisip pa sana ako.

But to be honest, dumating rin sa point na naging pabigat na rin sa akin ang sigarilyo.

…..Kapag na sa “No smoking area” kailangan mo pang mag hanap kung saan pwedi manigarilyo.
…..Kapag wala ng bukas na tindahan, tapos naubusan nang YOSI, pagkahaba-habang hanapan kung saan makakabili
….Dagdag gastos na rin
….Yung amoy sa damit, katawan at bibig
….Nandun na rin yung mga posibling sakit na maidudulot nito lalo na sa pamilya ko

This is not the typical life that I want,
And for me to change this, I have to regain myself back in my control.

At yun na nga, after nang realization na yun isang bagay na nagbigay sa akin ulit nang lakas nang loob to rebuild my life,

That is when I look back to all my dreams in life na sinukoan ko, I didn’t take the risk but instead I cling to a false belief that SIGURO HINDI ITO PARA SA AKIN.

Every opportunity na dumating at nagkaroon nang mga trials, I easily gave up instead of finding a way to fix it.
That words are like a drum in my head, every time I experience trials in every opportunity,

kaya naglakas loob ako na this time hindi na ako susuko. until I gain myself back. I knew deep inside that I can do more.

I took the risk, hindi ko alam kung magtatagumpay ba ko for that reason, all I knew was I have to take my life back.

After a couples of months of hardwork, I manage to become a NON-SMOKER. all my doubts and fears nawala at napalitan ng tapang at bilib sa sarili. although may withdrawal syndrome pa ako that time.

Kaya, those thing na sinasabi…

….hindi na talaga makakawala sa paninigarilyo lalo na pag long term smoker ka
….bibigay ang katawan mo dahil tumigil ako sa sigarilyo
….wala yan babalik ka pa rin after few months

Dun ko na realize na kaya pala tumigil sa paninigarilyo on your own pace.

For those people na katulad ko noon na naniniwala na yan na talaga ang buhay natin

Yung mga napagod na or totally sumoko na, na ayosin ang sarili.

Kahit ako dumating din sa point na yan, pero sumogal lang ako, until now, hindi ako makapaniwala na nagawa ko.

Today, mas productive na ako, mas may clarity na ang isip ko to plan for what is good for our life.

Syempre nawala na rin ang budget sa sigarilyo.

Mas marami na rin akong time to improve myself, ngayon I’m starting a business.

Nahilig na rin akong magbasa dahil nung time na nag start ako sa quitting smoking journey ko, I read books and blogs about ni****ne addiction and self-help related topics.

Ongoing na rin yung ginagawa kung book, I never thought na may ganito pala akong kunting talent. HAHAHA.

That QUITTING SMOKING opens many opportunities for me,
Pero ang pinaka masarap sa pakiramdam yung nakagawa ka nang bagay na alam mong hindi lang sarili mo ang nagkaroon nang binipisyo kundi pati pamilya mo.

And I also set as a role model sa anak ko.

To be honest, my daughter once asks me kung bakit daw naninigarilyo ang mga tatay? At bakit daw ako, hindi raw naninigarilyo.

Then I told her the truth—that I used to smoke before and why I quit smoking.

In that way, she will gain knowledge about smoking and what the effects of smoking are on our bodies.

Now, I’m spreading encouragement and motivation to those who want to quit smoking. I want to share and help in my own little way.

I want you to know na hindi ka nag-iisa sa laban mo, kung nagawa ko, you can do also, all you have to do is take a leap of faith.

Kung nabigo ka na sa unang subok wag kang titigil, Tapangan mo lang.

Araw-araw may laban ka na kakaharapin sa paglalakbay mo pero lagi mong tandaan, that is your life, and no one has to control it but you.

And if you’re still reading up to this part.

Maraming Salamat, sana nakatulong ito at nakapagbigay inspirasyon sa iyo,

Balang araw magpapasalamat ka sa sarili mo at pag dumating ang araw na yun, you are unstoppable.
