𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀?

Especially with the current pandemic situation, it is advisable to clean your glasses after being out for some time and exposed to other people. Your glasses kind of serve as a protection against strangers who were coughing or sneezing uncontrollably in public (if you're not wearing a face shield). Our glasses may carry and transfer any bacteria or virus when we touch them with our hands especially since we take them off and on frequently during the day.

If you've been exposed outside, especially for a long period, 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀?
🔹Rinse the lens on running water to remove any debris or particles that can potentially scratch them when rubbed with a cloth. Avoid using hard water.
🔹Add dish soap to your wet microfiber towel (or directly on the lens) and lightly rub to clean. Make sure that the microfiber towel is clean and also free of any dirt or rough particles.
🔹Clean the nose pads and frame with the same towel. Add soap if necessary.
🔹Rinse and dry with a soft towel.

➡️ As mentioned before, soap can already remove bacteria and viruses present on the surface or object.

❌Avoid using Rubbing Alcohol, Bleach/Disinfectants, or any acid-based solutions on your lens. Do not use tissue/paper towels or anything rough. Both can damage your lenses.

➡️ Protect your glasses by storing them properly on a hardshell case when not in use.

Hand-washing is still the best way in protecting ourselves from germs that may cause infection and life-threatening diseases. This method effectively removes dirt and germs from your hands, physically removing the debris and coming off with the soap lather when you rinse it with water.

This is pretty basic but important habit to have. Always prioritize washing your hands with soap and water and follow the proper way of hand-washing:
🔹 Wet your hands with water.
🔹 Lather soap by rubbing your hands together.
🔹 Scrub for at least 20 seconds.
🔹 Rinse with clean, running water.
🔹 Towel or air dry.

Having spent most of our time working during the weekday, we use our rest days/holidays to do general cleaning and washing. We tend to expose our hands to prolonged washing as we do all chores in a day: bathroom cleaning, dishwashing, laundry, washing of windows, floors, countertops, etc. If you have pets like us, you do the bathing and grooming too!
