With this story of teen queens and wannabes updated for the Gen Z, the movie adaptation recruited promising young talents in the iconic roles, most notably Auli’i Cravalho as Janis, Avantika as Karen, and Mean Girls stage veteran Reneé Rapp as the feisty Regina George. And although apsects of the movie got mixed reviews and hilarious Tiktok takedowns, the soundtrack definitely still makes for an enjoyable listen.
