Tradewinds Books was established in 1989 as a complementary offshoot of Silahis Arts and Artifacts to fill the need for the constant desire of tourists and visitors, as well as Filipinos themselves, for information and publications about the Philippines. It seeks to provide a comprehensive selection on the culture and literature of the Philippines including out-of-print publications, coffee-table

books, and tour and travel guides. Tradewinds Books has now expanded its offerings to books and magazines from other parts of Asia and the Pacific. We are located at the second floor of the SIlahis Center, and is open daily, including Sundays and holidays, from 10am to 7pm.

Opening on December 01, 2018, Saturday at 4:00pm.

Galeria de las Islas proudly presents "ECLECTICISM" a fifth solo art exhibition by Dr. Elden Lumaniog.

ECLECTICISM in the mind of versatile artist Dr. Elden Lumaniog, who stand at the intersection of differing trends, where the decisive turning point in the evolution of his art did not ignore the heritage of the past but tried to use that heritage to lend a new life and give them new interpretation.

Organic blend of tradition and innovation are gratified in his painterly way." BATIA" is to paraphrase life seeing in the artisan image of a self-sustain artistic reality from his humble origin of abode. His concern is not much with analyzing the relationship between contemporary man and the society but with finding symbolism, methodology, poetry as well as healing.

Behind the fleeting moment of human existence he captured as an artist and a medic, there loomed a world in his life choked by insoluble sadness. Still life of fruits and flowers on his fifth solo art show were actually objects of healing he brought before his twin brother. In memoriam of his brother's death. Dr. Lumaniog promised to bring in his memory alive by dint and great effort of his painting offerings.

We are warmly inviting everyone to please come and be part of this wonderful opening!
