Why do you want to use a water bottle that proudly labels themselves the "anti-bottle"?
Vapur believes and supports a view that I completely agree with-- clean tap water is the best water for you. Vapur wanted to make this tap water infinitely portable, readily available and ethically sustainable. They recognize that many water bottles are bulky and therefore a hassle to use and carry around. This turns people off to the whole idea of using a reusable water bottle.
So, Vapur developed the anti-bottle- a fold-and-go, flexible water container that transports easily, fitting into pockets, purses and packs. It's durable, yet functions well and provides a less rigid option for taking tap water with us.
You may be thinking that it is even easier to purchase bottled water and grab a cold bottle from the fridge as you're heading out the door. Let me take a few moments to tell you what's wrong with this.
50 billion bottles of water are consumed annually in the U.S. and 200 billion bottles globally. Unfortunately, only about 23% of these will be recycled in the U.S., leaving 38 billion plastic bottles to be dumped in landfills or floating in the ocean annually. It takes 17 million barrels of oil each year to make water bottles for the U.S. market, which would be enough oil to fuel 1.3 million cars for a year!
Plus, in blind taste tests, tap water regularly wins out over bottled water. The US has the cleanest tap water available anywhere in the world. If everyone quit giving into the pull of bottled water and used what they had on tap, they would save 240% to 10000% on their water purchase. Additionally, our planet would be much better off.
Vapur recognizes that not all countries have as good of a water supply as we do in the US. So, they have joined in with 1% For the Planet to donate 1% to water related causes.
Obviously, the whole design concept behind Vapur appealed to me. However, the anti-bottle has a lot more characteristics that make it great as well.
1. Reusable- Using a reusable bottle as opposed to disposable water bottles in one of the easiest ways to go green!
2. Foldable- As I stated before, it sure is nice to have a "bottle" that can essentially be packed anywhere!
3. Attachable- Vapur comes with a handy little carabiner clip that matches the color of the the anti-bottle. Use the clip to hang the bottle virtually anywhere
4. Identifiable- If you have a large family or hang out with friends who all use the anti-bottle, just write your name on the easy to use text area and never get your anti-bottle mixed up
5. Freezable- Keep your water even cooler by freezing the anti-bottle ahead of time
