David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been cast as Clark Kent’s Superman and Lois Lane in James Gunn’s DC film “Superman: Legacy”, set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025, with director Gunn planning to begin filming early 2024.

The official synopsis reads: “”Superman: Legacy” tells the story of Superman’s (Corenswet) journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.” “Superman: Legacy” is within the first chapter of DC Studios’ revamped DCU under Gunn and Peter Safran titled "Gods and Monsters." Included in the first chapter is the Batman centric film “The Brave and the Bold”, directed by “The Flash”’s Andy Muschietti and will feature a new actor to don the cape and cowl.
