She was born in 1897 and the society she grew up in was reflected in her writings. Some of which may sound controversial now and politically-incorrect because of this, but her books continue to sell globally. Some have even taken inspiration from her famous characters to create "Enid Blyton for Adults" book series as humorous satires of our contemporary society!
