A banker made the economists think this when he said:

“A cyclist is a disaster for the country’s economy: he doesn’t buy cars and doesn’t borrow money to buy. He don't pay insurance policies. Don't buy fuel, don't pay to have the car serviced, and no repairs needed. He doesn't use paid parking. Doesn't cause any major accidents. No need for multi-lane highways.

He is not getting obese.

Healthy people are not necessary or useful to the economy. They are not buying the medicine. They dont go to hospitals or doctors.

They add nothing to the country's GDP.

"On the contrary, each new McDonald’s store creates at least 30 jobs—actually 10 cardiologists, 10 dentists, 10 dietitians and nutritionists—obviously as well as the people who work in the store itself."

Choose wisely: a bike or a McDonald's? It's something to think about.

Useless ang lahat ng mga campaign rallies na yan kung hindi man lang pag-uusapan na kailangan na talagang baguhin ang bulok at minadaling 1987 Constitution na yan para mangyari ang mga ito:

1) Tanggalin ang lahat ng mga anti-FDI economic restrictions sa loob ng 1987 Constitution para mawala na ang mga sagabal ng Saligang Batas sa pagpasok ng mga job-creating foreign direct investors para dumami ang mga trabaho at ibang economic opportunities para sa mga ordinaryong Pilipino...

2) mag-shift patungo sa Federalism para ma-empower ang mga regions at mga probinsya para uamkit sila ng mga investors para dumami ang mga trabaho doon sa mga lugar nila at lumipat ang mga kumpanya at mga tao galing sa NCR. Kasi sobrang congested at overcrowded na ng Metro Manila. At neglected na ang countryside.

3) mag-shift patungo sa Parliamentary System na mas maayos, mas mura, mas efficient na sistema kumpara sa bulok at magulong Presidential System ng Pilipinas. Proven na ang Parliamentary System ay less prone to Corruption at madaling tanggalin at palitan ang leader na may ginawang kapalpakan at mas mataas ang quality ng mga leaders sa Parliamentary System kaysa sa Presidential System.

Lahat ng mga rally na yan ay useless kung hindi pinag-uusapan ang mga repormang ito...

This day in 1941, just before World War II in the Pacific, Philippine Airlines began its operation with its first flight from Manila (Nielson Airfield, now Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati) to Baguio through a five-seater Beech model 18. PAL is the first Asian airline.

Established in 1930, the Philippine Aerial Taxi Company Inc. (PATCO) was an aerial transport service that served different locations in the Philippines. It had scheduled flights daily for Manila-Baguio, and on weekdays for Manila-Paracale. The pilots were U.S. Army Air Corp reserve officers.

In February 1941, Spanish Filipino industrialist, Andres Soriano, and former senator Ramon Hernandez, purchased PATCO, and renamed it "Philippine Air Lines." The Commonwealth government invested on the airline in September 1941, aiming for its nationalization.

in 1941, PAL had its maiden flight, with a Beechcraft Model 18 NPC-54 taking off from Nielson Airport, with five passengers, all of whom were investors and business partners of Soriano.

But with the outbreak of war on December 8, 1941, the airline ceased operating, only resuming its flights on February 14, 1946, using refurbished military planes unscathed from the war.

In 1946, PAL became the first Asian airline to cross the Pacific Ocean via its Douglas DC-3, taking off from Nielson Airport Makati and making stopovers in Guam, Wake Island, Kwajalein, and Honolulu, reaching Oakland, California in July 31.
