This pandemic has made it even harder for women all over the world to have access to menstrual products, which showcases the need for reusables more than ever. Not to mention the fact that menstrual products contain plastic and contribute to plastic pollution greatly with their necessary and frequent usage.
If you don't know where to start, here are a few tips.
1. You can research the different kinds of reusable menstrual products out there. The most popular are cloth pads, menstrual cups, and period panties, to help you get started.
2. You can look for local stores that sell the reusable menstrual products you want to try (for Cebu, AMUMA Cebu is a great place to start).
3. You can check out bit.ly/environmenstrual, a movement for eco-friendly period products that begins this October!
And, of course, you can help by spreading the word! Menstruation is not talked about enough, and we need to make people more aware of the safe, reusable menstrual product options out there. Start the discussion today with a loved one, an acquaintance, or even yourself :)
