Yes, that Richard Stallman.

For the uninitiated, Richard Stallman or rms is the founder and president of the Free Software Foundation and the GNU project.

He also created gcc and emacs. The gcc compiler was/is used to compile the Linux kernel and other important software that you use. The gcc compiler is arguably the most popular C compiler used in the industry and definitely one of the most important pieces of software ever.

Long story short: YOU HAVE BENEFITTED FROM RICHARD STALLMAN'S WORK.

The other members of the GNU toolchain are also invaluable parts of the Linux ecosystem.

He will do his Copyright vs Community talk this Saturday(March 28) at the AS Conference Hall in UP Cebu. It will start at 12:30pm.

As requested by rms, the event will not have any registration and payment. It is free as in beer..

It is a non-technical talk.
