MY FAITH NEWS | Post-Valentine’s celebration: Married couples invited to renew vows at The Manila Cathedral.
The Manila Cathedral will hold a Rite of Renewal of Marriage Vows on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, during its regular Sunday Masses as part of a post-Valentine celebration at the Mother Church of the Philippines.
Married couples are invited to participate in the special rite during the 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 6 p.m. Eucharistic celebrations at Manila Cathedral. The initiative seeks to provide married couples an opportunity to reaffirm their sacramental commitment within the context of the Holy Mass.
In its announcement, the Cathedral encouraged spouses to “celebrate love and faithfulness as we commemorate Heart’s Day and God’s love for everyone,” highlighting the connection between conjugal fidelity and the enduring love of Christ for His Church.
The renewal of vows, integrated into the liturgy, allows husbands and wives to publicly restate their marital promises before God and the faith community. The rite underscores the Catholic understanding of marriage as a lifelong covenant rooted in grace and sustained by daily sacrifice and mutual self-gift.
Church officials encourage couples attending the Sunday Masses on Feb. 15 to take part in the renewal as a meaningful way to extend Valentine’s Day celebrations through prayer, thanksgiving, and recommitment to married life.
