“IMALL HIMIG PASKO CHORAL COMPETITION”
(A HOME OF MUSIC & CELEBRATION)
OFFICIAL GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS:
1. The competition is open to all school-based or community-based choral groups in the Province of Laguna.
2. This is open to all ages and mixed categories:
3. Official Date and Time of the Competition:
3.1. December 21, 2014 – 2:00 P.M.
4. Venue of the competition will be in the IMALL CANLUBANG ENTERTAINMENT ACTIVITY CENTER, Barangay Canlubang, Calamba City.
5. The group must be composed of 15 to 20 singers, one (1) conductor and/or one (1) accompaniment.
6. Each group shall render two (2) choral pieces: one (1) side piece and one (1) contest piece. Side piece must be a Christmas Song.
7. Accompaniments are allowed only to play at most 2 groups of different categories, otherwise the accompanist shall be denied to participate in the choral competition.
8. Conductors are allowed only to conduct one group of different categories, otherwise the conductor shall be denied to participate in the choral competition.
9. Conductors/conductress shall be required to wear formal attire.
10. Maximum performance time is 12 minutes including the entrance and exit.
11. A deduction of two (2) points will be incurred in excess of every minute or fraction of a minute.
12. Criteria for judging
Tonal Quality (flexibility of voice, intonation & range) 40%
Harmony (blending & balance, phrasing) 30%
Mastery (dynamics, technique, interpretation) 20%
Deportment (general appearance, discipline & uniform) 10%
Total 100%
13. The allocation of points shall be based on the following:
Contest Piece 70%
Side Piece 30%
Total 100%
14. Cash prizes at stake –
14.1 – GRAND WINNER -PHP 7,500.00
14.2 – FIRST RUNNER UP -PHP 5,000.00
14.2 – SECOND RUNNER UP -PHP 3,000.00
15. A set of judges shall be assigned by the organizers – IMALL CANLUBANG MANAGEMENT & MVF EVENTS SERVICES, MANAGEMENT & PRODUCTIONS. These Official Judges are well known for their achievement and stature in the field of music and performing arts.
Their decision shall base on the results of the competition and shall be final and irrevocable.
16. Application forms, Guidelines & Mechanics can be secured from IMALL CANLUBANG ADMINISTRATION OFFICE.
17. Deadline for the submission of entries will be on December 18, 2014 and final briefing will be on December 20, 2014 at IMALL CANLUBANG ENTERTAINMENT ACTIVITY CENTER, Barangay Canlubang, Calamba City.
