Hey hey!
We are back with another Keeb review and this time its the Weikav Record Alice.
Coming from the same manufacturer as the Sugar65, the Record Alice is a 65% full CNC aluminum, spring leaf and south facing LED keeb. The keeb also comes with a Polycarbonate plate preinstalled. Being an alice layout, the typing experience might be difficult for some at first but after a couple of days, you should be able to type with little to no errors and it worth noting that this is an ergonomic design.
The unique feature of this keeb is its spring leaf mount, unlike your usual stand off or gasket mount, the keeb uses a stem like mounting style but it is still similar to gasket mounting.
Overall the keeb is great, it has a premium feel due to its full aluminum body and with the barebones just weighing over 1.3kg the keeb is light; as for the price range it is around 75$ or 4200PHP, much more expensive than the Sugar65 that we reviewed previously.
LITTLE RANT:
When we received the keeb, we noticed that it did not come with any stabilizers(those who previously purchased from the shop came with stabs), missing two rubber feet(some buyers also had the same issue), missing 1 out of 8 spring leaf mounts(which again some buyers also having the same issue) and lastly it did not come with PET Insulation(not really needed but was mentioned in the product description). Upon speaking to the seller, they mentioned that this batch had lots of factory defects(Just don’t sell it in the first place if thats the case or get Weikav to fix it).
One last thing is that the PCB can get into contact with the body which will cause keys to register together with other keys, to prevent this we had to tape the bottom of the case to remove the PCB to plate contact. The seller did mention to try and reset the board but we don’t think thats the case.
This segment of the review is not to discourage but to give a PSA incase this happens to others as well.
