Just the opportunity and chance to show up means a lot. I always say that there are 3 kinds of people we meet on pop-up events. 1. The people who don't care about crochet. Kthanksbye! 2. The people who likes arts and crafts, who likes making things, who's faces light up when they see our booth setup. 3. The people who loves crochet products, but either don't know or don't have time to make. They are the ones who buy our finished products, appreciate and most importantly, they value our craft for money - they don't haggle. Money-wise, my favorite are people #3. But the people I'd love to meet the most are people #2. So thank you to everyone who dropped by and shared the love for crafting and creating! I hope to see you again soon! For me, crocheting has never been competitive, but always collaborative. Admitting that I can't do every project inspo I see allows me to rely on other people to bring great ideas to life. We're always pressured to do projects like that big brand, or from that famous artist, but acknowledging that I don't have all the time in the world to make the things other people expect me to do always keeps me grounded, to share and collaborate the craft with others.
Thank you for letting us show what crochet means to us and to share our love for crocheting! It has been a journey to keep making, keep showing up even when I don't feel like it, even when I don't feel good enough, even scared, even through impostor syndrome, even through doubt and anxiety.
So thank you to my wonderful teammates Leigh & Lyle and Asther arts and crafts -- team crochet! From crochet workshop planning, teaching, and booth manning. I know we couldn't have done it without each other.
Here are my favorite photos from ArtTents 2026. Layo na, pero layo pa. Layo pa, pero layo na. Here's to more crochet projects, more crochet workshops and tambays, because arts and crafts are for life!
