In his review of the book, Tabunan praises it as a compelling depiction of the Ilokano condition as "remaindered life," borrowing Neferti Tadiar's concept. While the stories confront the griefs and burdens inherited from history and carried into the present, they also gesture toward the possibilities of hope, resilience, and healing.
