OUR FAVORITE SARAH CALLS OUT CORRUPTION ON UAAP STAGE

“Pinaikot-ikot lang tayo. Tama na!” Sarah Geronimo told over 36,000 attendees at the University of Santo Tomas during the UAAP Season 88 opening on Friday, Sept. 19, using her platform to rally the youth against corruption.

The pop star performed her hit song “Ikot-Ikot” before delivering a fiery message on the country’s “bulok na sistema.”

Her remarks come at a time when flood control corruption scandals continue to plague the Philippines, fueling public anger and calls for accountability.

She reminded students that as the country’s youth, they are the hope of the nation and will one day be the ones to change the country’s rotten system.

Geronimo urged them not to lose hope, saying the country can still prosper without Filipinos needing to leave for better opportunities abroad: “Uunlad din ang ating mahal na bansang Pilipinas… Patuloy nating ipagdasal ang ating bansa.”
