Last summer, in June 2021, I took a picture of the moon outside our
house because I really appreciate its moonlight that gives light for us
to see. The moonlight reminded me about a blind lady I encountered
at the market who continued to wander while I went about my
business, attempting to manage what I needed to get for my sister's
evening dish. She almost collided with a barrier at the fish market,
and I felt a string pulling me closer to the lady, which I held to keep
her from being hit. When I was holding her close to my chest, I
overheard her pleading to God for someone to guide her and saying,
"Thank you, Father, for answering my prayer; you are the answer to
my prayer." I felt blessed and grateful to hear that from her; that day I
was moved by what she said and reminded me that I was someone's
answered prayer just like the moonlight that gives light. I treasured
that experience from that day on, and whenever I felt lost and out of
the way, I was reminded of her. Through that lady, the Lord Jesus helped me
realize how fortunate I was to have eyesight to see His lovely
creation, I realized how amazing it was to witness this chaotic yet beautiful cosmos.
In the same way, 'sometimes we are the answered prayer too' because the Lord heard what we are pleading to Him even through the whisper of our hearts. The blind lady I encountered years ago, allowed me to reflect that its not always 'me' who desired to have answers to my prayers but somehow sometimes — I am also the answered prayer to others according to His will.
John 14:13 (NIV)
"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son." (this was Jesus with His disciples, reminding them that they could do anything — mostly performing miracles just like Him through His name)
Psalm 46:1 (NIV)
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." — (from the blind lady's POV, the Lord was present in her nearing trouble)
All the glory and honor belongs to You, Lord Jesus!
