Sunday. Relax. Put a record on. And while we’re talking vinyl, Pro-Ject has come up with a clever new way to keep those records clean without making the process complicated—or expensive.
The new Pro-Ject VC-E Mini strips the record cleaning machine back to the essentials. The traditional suction arm is gone, replaced by a bottom-mounted vacuum system. Clean the record from the top, flip it over, and vacuum the fluid away from underneath.

The result? Smaller, quieter, simpler to use and easier to store—and it comes in at a lower price than Pro-Ject’s larger VC-E2 and VC-S3 machines. It is also in stock now.

Ortofon’s new X Series Moving Coil cartridges have been making quite an impression — both with reviewers and here at The Listening Post.

The Ortofon X10 ($599) and X30 ($1,399) have now been put through their paces by Analog Planet, with both earning plenty of praise for the level of performance they deliver for the money.

When the X Series arrived, we expected it to sit naturally around the territory previously occupied by Ortofon’s Quintet range. What surprised us was just how close these new cartridges can get to the considerably more ambitious Cadenza range.

Analog Planet was particularly impressed by the X30’s ability to remain composed, clean and separated when the music becomes dense and demanding.
