The Opportunity for Animals op-shops are charity stores fundraising for animals in need and a project of the Animal Protection Society.

We sell good quality secondhand clothing and household goods. The Opportunity for Animals stores support the continuing running of the Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary in Otaki. The Sanctuary is a safe space, rehabilitating abused, injured and neglected nonhuman animals – both native and introduced. Every day, hundreds of thousands of animals suffer pain and fear in intensive farms, stockyards and sla

ughterhouses throughout New Zealand. Countless others are neglected or abandoned. The Sanctuary offers unwanted and ill-treated farm and domestic animals a chance of a new life. http://www.theblacksheep.org.nz

The Opportunity for Animals stores provide a large selection of 2nd hand clothes, home-wares, books and toys at decent prices...

Opportunity for Animals is actively environmentally aware and make choices with the environment in mind through
• recycling
• using healthy cleaning products etc.
• we encourage people to say no to bags (which we only provide recycled)
• we encourage donations, thereby removing waste from going to the landfill
• we give away unsellable goods in the hope others will find a further use for them

Hoping to do some thrifting this long weekend? We will be open on Saturday the 4th and Monday the 6th! We will however be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

We've got lots of great stock out at the moment including clothing, bric-a-brac, and antiques, so stop by and find yourself a great deal!

Yesterday we did a huge refresh of our Newtown shop!

We added plenty of new bric-a-brac and kitchenware, and heaps of clothing 🙌

We will be open from 10am to 5pm today during Newtown Festival!

Women's and active wear TOPS are all $3 each! Plus many other bargains on great clothing items, books, kitchenware, and bric-a-brac!

We will be closed tomorrow (Monday) while we give the shop a good clean and refill with brand new stock! We will reopen again on Tuesday, so be sure to pop in then!

Come visit us at Petone Fair!!

If you haven't made your way out to our new Opportunity for Animals location in Pito-one/Petone, then this is the perfect time to do so!

Our shop will be open for the duration of the fair, and we will be having a huge book sale outside our shop! In addition, we will have some vegan baking for sale as well as our Black Sheep merch. See you there!

Marshmallow the goat is just popping in to see if you have a spare vacuum!

The vacuum at our Miramar shop has sadly died, and we are looking for a replacement! If you have a spare, working vacuum that you've been meaning to donate, our shop would happily take it. Vacuums can be dropped off at any of our three locations (Miramar, Newtown, Petone) or depending on your location we may be able to pick up 😊

Just ask our friendly staff at the counter and they will happily help you out. This cookbook has over 100 vegan recipes, including many gluten-free and nut-free options!
