Today, we stand at the cusp of a powerful and meaningful new chapter for LUC. We have reflected on our role in the world. The urgency of the global waste crisis cannot be ignored, and we recognise the responsibility we bear as a brand and as an industry participant. We are still working through what this means in every aspect moving forward but small, important changes are happening.
Embracing a more sustainable future, we are taking steps to address this challenge head-on which is why we have been so quiet over here for a while. We have also been dealing with very challenging times for small business. As we opened in the height of Covid and have honestly been struggling to ‘hang in there’ (as many wonderful, well meaning visitors to our store tell us) throughout these turbulent times.
At this stage, we have begun cleaning house to pave the way for a fresh start. We firmly believe that sustainability starts from within, which is why we are making internal changes to align ourselves better with our core values. We have dropped all our sale pieces with up to 75% off, firstly because it would really help us through these tough times to get some money flowing in and secondly, so we can have a fresh start and ‘start’ how we mean to go on.
We understand the complexities of discussing a global waste crisis while encouraging shopping. It's a delicate balance, but we believe that responsible consumption can coexist with a sustainable future. When you support our brand, you become a part of the change we wish to see in the world. By choosing consciously crafted products you contribute to a positive impact on the environment and help reshape the fashion industry.
We encourage you to invest in life pieces and support brands that take responsibility for the garments they put out into the market; this is the only way forward.
We will continue to research but will be moving at a slower fashion cycle than most brands in the market and will make conscious steps daily to improve our footprint in the industry and look forward to working with organisations and businesses that are also reshaping this machine of clothing production.
