💛 Thank You, Waikanae – From The Bookshelf
After a wonderful year of running The Bookshelf in Waikanae, we’ve made the very tough decision to close our doors at the end of April.
While we’ve absolutely loved being part of this beautiful community, things haven’t quite worked out as we had hoped in terms of the long-term logistics of running the shop as a family. With Cherees recently finishing her Master’s in Architecture and receiving an exciting opportunity to work in her field, and everything else considered—it feels like a fitting time to turn the page and begin a new chapter.
This was by no means an easy decision to make, and we kindly ask for your support and understanding as we wrap up our final month. Our goal is to finish on a positive note, celebrating the time we’ve had and the amazing people we’ve met along the way.
The Bookshelf has been more than just a store—it’s been a place full of stories, connections, beautiful books, thoughtful gifts, local creations, and daily chats at the counter. It’s been our privilege to serve you.
💛 To our incredible customers and community—thank you. Your support, loyalty, and encouragement have meant the world to us.
To help us close this chapter, we’ll be running a 30% closing down sale until we close (excluding consignment goods, cartridges, lotto, magazines, and papers).
We’ll be open until the end of April, so please pop in, say hi, and help us finish with lots of love, kindness, and good energy.
With heartfelt thanks,
Cherees, Pat, Anita, Jarod & Nicholas
