Bringing "Sexy Mama Wear" Back!

Stop everything—I’ve officially entered my Apron Era.

I’m not sure why I ever stopped wearing these. Maybe I didn't think they were "cool" enough? Well, if being cool means staining every white work top I own while cooking dinner, then I’m officially over it!

This absolute treasure was handmade by my Nana and passed down to me by my Aunty. It’s functional, sentimental, and yes... it has POCKETS.

There is something truly special about wearing something your grandmother made; it’s like a hug from the past while you’re doing your daily "adulting."

Feeling a little bit cute wearing this but acknowledging I am probably past the age of trying to be cool or caring if it it's not on trend. Got my own 'Kitchen Chic' happening and I’m obsessed.

Note: nobody look at the filthy stained oven mitts in the background.....my new apron be looking like that soon!

Move over, Paint & Sip... I’ve been experimenting!

I’ve been playing around with paper at home lately and created this giant crepe paper flower for the wall. I’m absolutely loving the texture and the “wow” factor it adds to a room! ✨

It got me thinking—is there a space for something new like a “Crepe, Glue, and Wine” night? 🥂✂️

I’m wondering if there’s any interest in a fun, crafty class like this. I can see it being such a lovely way to spend an evening, or even as a unique group activity for:

Netball Team Bonding: A creative way to catch up off the court! 🏐

Baby Girl Reveals: Making a giant pink bloom together for the nursery? 🎀

Friendship Groups: Just something totally different from the usual night out.

✨ BIG NEWS from Sio Design! We've been playing in boxes... literally! ✨

You know how it goes – trying to get a family photo where everyone looks good, no one's blinking, the kids aren't complaining about standing still, and you're not self-conscious about my peri-menopausal weight gain? Yeah, me too! 👋

That's why I'm SO excited to share this incredible "Whanau Box Portrait" we created as a test run for a new offering at Sio Design!

Honestly, for me, it was pure genius – no evidence of my current weight, no stressing about how tall the kids are getting, and even the self-conscious teens felt great because their photos were taken separately! Our fur-babies even got in on the action. 🐾

The magic? Everyone gets their own box and their own moment to shine. No one gets annoyed at anyone else for blinking or fluffing about. It’s chaos, contained in a box, and full of genuine laughter and fun. We had such a blast doing this! (the cat took a few tries to capture).

I've already ordered a gorgeous canvas print to hang on our wall, and I can't wait to show you the final product.

Shifting the Lens on Leadership - I’ve attended my fair share of leadership courses and goal-setting workshops. I’ve even integrated the Te Whare Tapa Whā model into my practice before. But the Mana Mindset Well-being Wānanga was different.

Through the lens of Te Ao Māori, Tania Rupapera and Ngaia Cruden provided a perspective that felt new, raw, and incredibly relatable. It wasn’t about “confronting” old habits; it was about opening doors to a new way of thinking that I’m still unpacking days later.

As a small business owner, I strive to bring my best self to my clients. This wānanga reminded me that professional development is hollow without the personal “mauri” (life force) to back it up.

I’m still working through the content—it truly blew me away. If you are looking for a wānanga that challenges you without being overwhelming, I cannot recommend Mana Coaching enough.

Little bit late, but very grateful for the year 2025 and looking forward to an even better one in 2026 !! ⭐️ ⭐️
