We are proud to be a participating bookstore once again for Kiwi Christmas Books!

Kiwi Christmas Books provides struggling families with brand-new books to gift to children as Christmas presents.

The purpose is to advance education and literacy by helping to grow a diverse community of readers.

How it works is you purchase a book in store think of something you think a child might like, one of your family favourites; a picture book, activity book or chapter book - anything!

Baby books, middle grade, young adult — we love them all. Even books for mum. (We love them even more when they are by a Kiwi writer or illustrator.)

We gather them up to be collected before Christmas for distribution via charities dealing with families.

Thank you to our northland volunteer Leonie Exel

& special thanks to our community who contributed donations last year!

Check out participating stores.

Dame Lisa Carrington DNZM (Te Aitanga-a-Māhaki, Ngāti Porou) is a world champion flat water canoeist and New Zealand’s most decorated Olympian of all time. She has won six Olympic medals – five gold and one bronze – across three consecutive Olympic Games. Lisa Carrington Chases a Champion and Ko Lisa Carrington me te Toa Whakaihuwaka is set in the small beach town of Ōhope, where she first learnt to paddle.

This is a story about how chasing your dreams isn't always straightforward; how persevering when things don't go quite right is important and why being kind to yourself along the way is key.

The Māori language edition, Ko Lisa Carrington me te Toa Whakaihuwaka, is also available in store!
