Vijay from Off The Sand-Chasing Tides NZ with a quality winter gurnard on a new rod we've been putting through its paces.

Over the past few months, we've been working behind the scenes on and testing some new gear ahead of the upcoming spring season. Hands-on feedback from ambassadors, tackle store owners, and our own staff is a crucial part of the process, helping us gain a well-rounded understanding of each products strengths and nuances in real-world conditions.

We're excited about what's coming and can't wait to share more.

A set of our Kilwell SOB42B Black Outrigger Bases and Kilwell NZ Three-Piece Superlite Outriggers recently made the trip across the Tasman and have now been installed aboard Nick's 730 Intimidator Cuddy Cabin.

It's always great to see Kiwi-made gear finding a home on the water overseas, and we're looking forward to seeing what Nick and the team get up to with their new setup.

Another cold-weather adventure for one of the Kilwell team. Brand Manager Stu took a few days last week to hike and fish around Tūrangi and the Tongariro River.

Freshly spooled with a Amplitude Creek Trout 6wt line, it handled the colder temperatures with ease.

Despite the winter cold settling over the Eastern Bay of Plenty, last week the team still managed a solid haul of fish.

Among the gear being tested were the new Kilwell Digital Scales. Rated to 25kg, with a sturdy loop -style handle and stainless steel S-hook, they're built for reliable performance on the water. The backlit LCD display is a standout feature for beach anglers, delivering clear and accurate weight readings long after the sun goes down.

Check out those eyes!

Tony and the crew aboard Playstation 2 managed to bring up a couple of less common species while deep dropping last week. A handful of Black Cardinal fish and Alfonsino made an appearance, hooked from depths of nearly 700 metres.

An incredible catch and a great effort from the team. Nice work!
