So we wanted to show you the difference between knowing your Mazzer Grinder and not…

1st photo – 3-month-old Grinder Burrs adjusted so fine that they touched, went blunt and just could not handle the grind anymore (yes a lame pun!)
2nd photo – how they are supposed to look.

If you adjust your grind too fine, the flavour can be over-extracted and bitter, the burrs will touch and you will hear a high pitched singing sound coming from your grinder. Turn it off quick smart and call your coffee supplier (or us!)

The rule of thumb is (some will agree/disagree – and that is cool😎)
Before you adjust anything, turn your grinder on and remember this as you turn your grinder dial (Photo #3) each notch changes your extraction time by 5 seconds +/- 1sec
Eg. Move your grinder dial 3 notches courser (clockwise) = your extraction going quicker by 15 seconds!!! Small adjustments make a huge difference.
