Well it's been a while since I posted here, things have been so busy the last few months! I'd like to show you my latest commission, Shared with permission of the customer "A Trio of Gold".

3 Eurobeads, each one representing a beloved pet. The two boys' beads feature a Gold leaf core, The girls bead features a bit more bling with a golden glitter core. A beautiful set and a beautiful gift.

Here's a special piece, cast into a cabochon shape and set in a separately purchased silver bezel. A gift for Nana, with a shaped lock of her daughters and grandaughters hair as inclusions.

Hair makes a great inclusion in resin pieces. There are a lot of ways it can be styled and shaped into creative artistic effects. It pays to keep in mind that some hair, such as human hair will appear darker in colour when set in resin, almost as though the hair is wet. This Eurobead features three different colours of dog hair (from the same tri-coloured dog), arranged in layers.

This is a special piece I made for myself. I call it "My Rainbow Bridge". There is a bead for each of my beloved dogs that have moved to the bridge. Each bead is coloured with glitter in the same colour as their collars that they wore when they were with me, and each contains a few strands of their hair. The red bead dog has been gone a long time now, but fortunately I found a few hairs in her old soft crate before I sold it and put them away for safe keeping. I'm glad I did :)

As I got older, and had a child of my own, I found my self reflecting on the happy memories of my Childhood and younger years. Sorting through my old memory boxes got me thinking, wouldn't it be nice to be reminded of these happy times more often? This is how the idea behind Resinating Memories was born, turning special little things into beautiful pieces that you can carry with you to brighten your day, every day.
