Think it’s time I reintroduce myself!

Hi I’m Monique, I just turned 23, I was born and raised in Oamaru, New Zealand and I own MK Beauty & Boutique and The Oamaru Vault✨

I spend my days working as a beauty therapist in which was the first business I opened. I have a huge passion for beauty therapy and creating a safe, self-loving, fun space for all my beautiful clients.

My favourite treatments to do would 100% be facials and massages. I love working with my hands and feeling the client melt away into a state of relaxation and leaving the outside world behind (Although brows and lashes are pretty high up there too!!)

I do enjoy having all my favourite things in one place so when I had the thought of opening a retail store having both MK Beauty & The Oamaru Vault in one building was a no brainer! A fun and fabulous mix of beauty, gifting, homewares and colour all under the one roof🤩

My thought process has always been products that make everyday feel a little more special and that’s what I aim for in my store. Filling it with funky, unique pieces that you won’t find anywhere else locally. The best thing ever is seeing people’s reactions when they walk in and find something they just have to have because it brings them such joy.

When I’m not working you’ll usually find me outside walking blasting music in my headphones with my two dogs, scrapbooking (or doing whatever hobby I am currently obsessed with) and in winter time at the netball courts. For me, my job is all about creativity, confidence to be who you are and making people feel good in their own skin and being able to do that for a living is one of the best things in the world🫶

I’m so incredibly grateful for the amazing support both locally and our customers from far away with both The Oamaru Vault and MK Beauty and Boutique. I truly couldn’t do any of this without you guys, and every bit of support means the absolute world to me as a young small business owner💋
