We're Changing our Tune from 1 April 2026.
First of all, thank you: To all our customers and musical families — we are deeply grateful for your loyalty and for allowing Pianoworks to be part of your lives for more than 40 years. It has been a privilege to share in your musical journeys.

After much consideration, Graeme and I feel the timing is right to pass the tuning lever on, and hand Pianoworks over to a talented younger tuner/technician. We are therefore delighted to introduce Jeremy Richards, whose passion, skill, and fresh perspective will ensure that the same dedication to quality and craftsmanship you've come to expect will continue for years to come.

The Times They Are A-Changin' as the great Bob Dylan once sang, and so are we.

From the end of March 2026 we will be moving our business downstairs to the workshop where we will continue piano retail (acoustic and digital). It's the same location we've been operating from since 2004, but we will be closing down the Devon Street store upstairs.

We will focus on our piano tuning and piano retail business with a new piano tuner on board to assist Graeme. We are very excited to be making this move, so we can offer better tuning services to our customers.

We will introduce our new piano tuner as soon as everything is confirmed, so stay tuned!

Very much looking forward to this concert next Thursday-make sure you are there too!

We’re thrilled to be preparing to undertake our very first New Zealand tour, bringing the spirit of Australian chamber music to Aotearoa this July. Performing in Christchurch, Waikanae, Auckland, Tauranga, New Plymouth, Whanganui, Palmerston North and Wellington, we’ll be joined by the legendary pianist Michael Houstoun and get to visit all of Wilma’s favourite NZ locations.

The concert program includes Beethoven’s explosive Serioso quartet, Dvořák’s lush piano quintet, and the NZ premiere of Bungaree by Yorta Yorta composer Deborah Cheetham Fraillon.
